What is Peace? Perspectives from 7th gr. Students

Doug G., Age 13
I think peace is a thing that every person wishes to have.

Alexis W., Age 13

Peace, it's a word often said, but is it really real? Peace is the happiness you feel when all is right and no one is violent. Peace is the silences in the corner of the world, the trust you feel towards the ones you love, and the want for family. No jealousy. No war. Love and happiness. A feeling to last...forever.

Vincent B., Age 13
Peace is friendship. Peace is calmness. Peace is like walking on a rainbow. Peace is love. Peace is no wars.

Scott F., Age 14
Peace is when you can come home or come to school and have no fighting. Peace is when you can pray to God without being interrupted. Peace is the love between my family and me. Peace is faith. Peace is those who thing about becoming one with God.

Bobby O., Age 13

Peace is coming home to a loving family. Peace means not having to go to war but working out our differences. Peace is union with Jesus Christ. Peace is sharing something special with the one you have to spend your time with. Peace is having fun or just hanging out with your friends. Peace is from God.

Nic D., Age 13
Peace is being nice to people. Peace is not hurting anyone.

Isabella G., Age 13
Peace is a soft baby; being loved by your family; understanding the other person. Peace is being there when someone cries.

Chris W., Age 13

People helping each other
Everyone not hurting each other
All of the world getting along
Communities all tolerant
Everything is beautiful.

Victoria B., Age 13

"Peace is flowing like a river. Flowing out of you and me." Peace is love. Peace is tolerance. Peace is acceptance. Peace is joy. Peace is togetherness. Peace is patience. Peace is kindness. Peace is goodness. Peace is self-control. "Peace is flowing like a river. Flowing out of you and me. Flowing out into the desert. Setting all the captives free."

CONTRIBUTING ARTICLES

I believe that we can learn a lot from our youth. If you have a group of students ask them; "What does Peace mean?" and send their answers to us at lisa@peacefulearth.com. We will publish their perspectives in a future edition.

If you know of a youth who enjoys writing, have them write an article about peace and send it to us. We may publish it as well. It's a wonderful learning process, great experience and great exposure!
